office policies

Please read our policies below before using our services. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at admin@OntarioRN.ca.

  • Our Registered Nurses (RNs) provide care within the legal scope of practice as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), focusing on health promotion, therapeutic communication, patient education, and supportive care.
  • We assess client needs, develop care plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions in the areas of mental health and chronic disease management.
  • We do not diagnose medical conditions or prescribe medication - when needed, we collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other regulated professionals in delivering your care.
  • Due to the intricate nature of medication administration, we will not be performing any medication prescription and/or administration. Our clinic focuses on non-pharmaceutical interventions in treating health conditions.

  • By using services at OntarioRN, you are providing informed consent to receive care from a Registered Nurse (RN) in accordance with the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • With your written consent, we may release relevant medical information to other healthcare providers or third parties involved in your care. Please see below for more on 'Release of Medical Information'.
  • Consent forms will be sent to you via Janeapp.

  • All personal and health information is stored securely using encrypted, password-protected systems and is only collected with your informed consent.
  • Confidentiality may only be breached in specific, legally required situations - such as if there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or when required by a court order.
  • Note: Our appointments are typically conducted virtually. There is always an inherent security risk when conducting virtual appointments. In addition to our office taking the necessary privacy and confidentiality measures, we recommend you also take the necessary precautions (e.g. take virtual calls in a private setting, etc.)

  • We maintain accurate and confidential records/documentation in accordance with provincial guidelines and nursing best practices.
  • We will release your medical records as per your request and consent after you have provided our office with a consent form to disclose medical rcords.
  • Transferring health records is not an insured service and fees may apply.

  • Currently, we offer email support. Our goal is to provide telephone and faxing services in the near future.
  • We will respond to emails within 1 business day.

  • We use Janeapp to schedule and manage your appointments. Janeapp is PHIPA compliant, ensuring your personal health information is securely managed while offering a convenient way to schedule and manage your appointments.
  • To request a consultation, click here.
  • If you have already requested a consultation, scroll to the bottom of the 'Request a Consultation' page to 'Book an Appointment'.

  • Please provide our office with 24-hours notice to avoid any cancellation charges. For appointments cancelled within the 24-hour mark, there is a $50 no-show fee.
  • Appointment cancellations can be made directly through Janeapp.

  • We are an outpatient psychotherapy and rehabilitation clinic. We do not provide emergency services.
  • If you or your loved one is in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact 911 or go to your nearest emergency department immediately.
  • For 24/7 mental health support, you can also contact 'Talk Suicide Canada' at 1-833-456-4566.

We are committed to fostering an environment where all clients, caregivers, staff, and partners feel welcomed, seen, and respected. All care provided through OntarioRN is delivered with cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, and an unwavering respect for human rights.

This includes any discrimination based on race, ethnicity, citizenship, religion, age, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital or family status, socioeconomic background, disability, health status, physical appearance, or professional role.
