We offer our services to patients of all ages. In some instances, we may recommend that you follow up with your family doctor/GP and allied health care team for further direction in your treatment. 

We do not require a referral for our services. However, your insurance provider may request an order or prescription from a physician before engaging in our services.

No, you do not need a referral from a doctor to access care from OntarioRN. However, some extended health insurance policies may require a physician’s referral or order for certain services to be eligible for reimbursement. We recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm the specific requirements of your plan. 

We use the Janeapp to book, manage and schedule appointments. To book an appointment, click here to see the appointments that are available.

We respond to all inquiries within 1 business day. Currently, there is no wait time - appointments can often be scheduled immediately based on your availability. Our goal is to provide timely, accessible care when you need it most. 

Note: we are not accepting consultations until September 2026. 

At this time, our services are primarily offered virtually. However, we do provide in-person acupuncture and private duty nursing within our current catchment area of Bradford West Gwillimbury, Ontario.

We’re actively working to expand this service to the broader public and hope to offer more in-person care options soon.

After you've booked your first appointment, a link will be sent to you via email so that you can connect with your nurse virtually.

Your first visit is focused on getting to know you and your health needs. A Registered Nurse will complete a comprehensive intake assessment, review your health history, and work with you to develop a personalized care plan. 

We’ll also answer any questions you have and ensure you feel comfortable with the next steps in your care. 

Many of our services are covered under motor vehicle accident benefits and extended health benefits plans. This includes coverage for Registered Nurses (RNs) or psychotherapy provided by RNs. 

However, coverage varies depending on your insurer and plan, and some services may require a physician’s referral to be eligible, or they may not cover psychotherapy provided by a Registered Nurse. We strongly recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm your specific coverage details.

Yes, you can access services like biofeedback, autogenic training, and mindfulness in Ontario without a clinical diagnosis, especially as these are considered preventative health measures. 

While some services may typically require a referral or diagnosis for insurance purposes, many practitioners in Ontario offer similar therapies on a self-pay basis. It’s best to check directly with the service provider to understand their specific requirements and how they operate in these cases. 

We do not charge HST for our services. Service fees are listed below. 

• Transfer of Medical Records - $0.25 per page.
• Virtual Counseling/Psychotherapy (1 hour) - $150.00.
• Virtual Private Duty Nursing (1 hour) - $150.00.
• In-Person Private Duty Nursing (1 hour) - $200.00.
• In-Person Acupuncture (20 min) - $90.00.
• MVA Case Management & Counseling (1 hour) - $91.43.
• MVA Attendant Care & Form 1 - Please contact.

We kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Missed appointments or late cancellations may be subject to a fee, as this time is reserved specifically for you.

Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are advanced practice nurses with additional education and training, allowing them to diagnose conditions, order tests, and prescribe medications. While both Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners are highly skilled, NPs have a broader scope of practice.
